Rand Mtashar – Executive Manager, Disability Services
Rand a has been a part of the St Anthony’s Family Care team for over 3 years working in the field of disability services.
During her time with the organisation Rand has held a number of positions including Individual Supports Coordinator, NDIS Quality & Safeguarding Coordinator and in 2022 took on the role of Executive Manager of Disability Services.
Rand’s passion for supporting people of all abilities to be part of a community and to develop life skills is a source of motivation, as is helping families to access programs that are able to meet their range of needs.
Now as part of the management team, Rand provides input into the overall strategic direction of the organisation to ensure children, young adults and their families receive the highest quality services and appropriate care.
We asked Rand a few questions to get to know her a bit better.

Favourite Book: I read a lot of crime books and I can’t pick a favourite one!!
Favourite Music: I grew up listening to all type of music however I have a favourite Egyptian Signer called Abdel Halim Hafez. I also listen to ASMR every night to help me sleep.
What do you do at St Anthony’s Family Care? I am currently the Acting manager for Disability services. My main responsibilities are staff management, mentoring, developing staff skills in the delivery of a person-centered approach, as well as ensuring compliance within the NDIS Practice.
What do you like about working at St Anthony’s Family Care? I am grateful for having a rewarding job. It means a lot to me to be part of someone’s development and progress toward independence. Also, everyone is supportive, and I appreciate how easy is to communicate with all my colleagues.
What’s your background and where did you grow up? I was born in Iraq and migrated to Australia when I was 17 years old with my family. I grow up in Iraq but spent most of my adolescence in Syria.
What are the values that drive you? Honesty, loyalty, integrity, and compassion.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working? Shopping, spending time with family & friends, going to the beach, trying new restaurants and taking naps.

Favourite Books: I enjoy reading articles more than anything at the moment
Favourite Albums: Albums at the moment I have had to listen to lots of lullaby albums on Spotify whilst putting my son to sleep…. It helps us drift off to sleep at the same time and the wiggles- prior to motherhood lots of various albums on my Spotify list which includes r&b, chilled and a bit of house, if I am in the mood a bit of Greek music too.
What do you do at St Anthony’s Family Care: safeguarding reporting, compliance and documentation, on boarding of new clients, recruitment and training, supporting with the Forge programming.
What do you like about working at St Anthony’s Family Care? Love working with a supportive and passionate team- all here for the same reasons and that is to support the clients and their families who attend our services.
What’s your background and where did you grow up? My parents are Greek Cypriot and I grew up in Auburn – yes I went to Greek school from year 1 up until year 12 and that included Greek dancing too – I had no choice really but very grateful now that I am an adult I can appreciate why my parents wanted us to attend.
What are the values that drive you? Honesty, respect, empathy and compassion
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working? I enjoy watching renovation shows – anything that is inspiring and creative, I enjoy cooking, going to local markets, traveling and exploring different areas, spending time with family and friends.
Liam Gullotto – Group Programs Coordinator
Liam has worked for St Anthony’s Family Care for the last 7 years.
His hard work and dedication to SAFC has seen him grow from a support worker to a coordinator. Liam does a fantastic job facilitating EPIK and Forge’s group programs.
These programs are so important for helping the under 16s and young adults participants in the community.
Liam’s efforts in making sure that those who need help in the community get the care and assistance they need is a quality that we are grateful for.

What do you do at St Anthony’s Family Care: As the Group Services coordinator I facilitate EPIK & Forge’s group programs. This ranges from the Weekend and Holiday Programs for our under 16s participants to the Adult Day Program for our young adult participants.
What do you like about working at St Anthony’s Family Care: I’ve been with SAFC for almost 7 years now; from starting as support worker up until now as a coordinator, I have always felt and continue to see a sense of community amongst the support workers; everyone seems to get along so well. I truly believe that I have made friends for life here.
What’s your background and where did you grow up? I am half Italian / Sri Lankan and I was born and raised in Bankstown.
What are the values that drive you? I would say the values that drive me in my work are kindness, patience, and empathy.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working? Cooking, going for walks, and watching movies; sometimes all at once… but mostly separately.
Elyse Xenofontos – Individual Services & Short Term Accommodation Coordinator
Elyse joined SAFC two years ago as a support worker and has since shown to be a valuable member of the Disability Services team.
Her greatest strength is without a doubt the passion and commitment she has for our participants and their families.
Elyse is responsible for managing individual and STA (Short Term Accommodation) requests. Elyse supports our families by responding to special requirements of our participants and their family members.
We asked Elyse a few questions to get to know her a bit better.

Favourite Albums: I am a big fan of dance and house music, especially on my way to work to help me get started for the day.
What do you do at St Anthony’s Family Care: I coordinate STA (short term accommodation) and Individual Support for participants and their families.
What do you like about working at St Anthony’s Family Care? I love the work environment, everyone is kind, supportive and easy to get along with. I enjoy helping families and supporting children with disabilities to grow and become independent within their community.
What’s your background and where did you grow up? I am of Greek Cypriot Background; I grew up in the Southern Suburbs of Sydney near the beach which I love!
What are the values that drive you? I value learning new things, and growing as in Individual, as well as upskilling.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working? I love relaxing and going to the beach when its hot. Spending time with family and friends every moment I can.
Jaclyn Moar – Forge Day Program Team Leader
